A Clean Accounting of the Holy Both
On the literary fields of female ferocity, goddesses, warriors, archers, and mothers stand shoulder to shoulder, muscled, straight-spined, their eyes alive with knowing, humor, and holy rage. Their bodies are lithe and alive from dancing. Some of them trained naked on horseback, some slid like spies as well-heeled agents into corporate boardrooms, some sharpened spears crouched in treetops, some cradled baby after baby to their bodies and sang their sons into kings.
Lisa will tell all of her story one day. A story reaching back into generations of women who lived hard choices. Generations of men who rode trains and sailed boats and boarded airplanes across history into hospitals, political prisons, and universities. A collective of stories that is already alive in our shared field. A story that pulses in Lisa as she tilts her head to consider what is before her. And what is before her is All of it.
Lisa has used her life well. She leans into each role as the curtain raises- beloved as a granddaughter, emboldened as a daughter, protective as a sister, voracious as a scholar, strident as a negotiator, exacting as an accountant, devoted as a partner, attuned as a wife, forged as a mother, responsive as a coach, and as a friend- playful, fierce, and free. And when the curtain lowers between acts, the costume may change, but Lisa keeps all of the characters inside of her, and she gets back on the stage, more embodied, integrated, and whole. In moments of pause, she reflects. The revelations then lead to release- and rising.
Here is a woman who speaks of the body with the same gospel of trust others might place in scripture. There is no disconnection between intuition and embodiment in her language—it’s fused. She receives words somatically, then responds in a way that reflects not just comprehension but resonance, affirming the body as a portal, not a problem:
“It’s how I experience love. It’s how I experience joy. It’s how I brought my three boys—my kings—into the world.”
Lisa has pulled threads from yoga, plant medicine, trauma training, motherhood, athleticism, playing in the quantum field, and honing spiritual grit—but what she’s doing is hers. You can feel it in her voice when she says, “I’m creating my own thing.” You can see it in her posture: rooted, gentle, unshakable. Physical, mystical, maternal, mythic, medical, measurable. Lisa doesn’t pick one. She bridges them. Lisa Peterson is negotiating, with precision and grace, the oscillating path of the Holy Both.
Both the use of the system and the breaking of the system, the honoring of the contract and the negotiating of the contract. The devotion and the overdoing. The skin-deep glow of beauty and the deep-muscled infrastructure of beauty. The resentment of Other and the surrender to Other. The descent and the remembering. The wild discovery and the ordinary ritual of knitting knowing into the body. The woman pulsing at the gym and the one enveloped in the golden orb of the initiate. Lisa is here for All of it. Without judgment, pity, fear, or shame. Each well-considered moment of her life serves her expansion and keeps alive her curiosity to better understand how all of this even works.
We are entering a New Way and Lisa is going first, leaving nothing behind.
Lisa is the architect of her own becoming and she is sharing the designs as they download. Her guidance is forensic, precise, playful, and clean. When she says, “I take good care of her,” she means her own body first, but this field of permission- modeling grace, honesty, and reckoning- is wide open for women who are, too, ready to remember that they do indeed want to turn toward their inner babe with the tools of restoration and the pleasures of full belonging.
Lisa lives in a state of ongoing welcome. All of it belongs—the strong, the scared, the edge, the opening. Lisa lets it land. And then, with quiet accuracy, she corrects. Not from judgment. From clarity. From attention. From care.
What Lisa would have done sooner or differently? She would have asked for help.
And you still can.
All of you is welcome.
And all of you are welcome to find out how this feels.
